GCBHOF History

The Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame (GCBHOF) is a non-profit organization, created in 1996 by the late George C. Spencer. Our goal is to honor and give recognition to those persons who have made significant contributions to amateur and professional basketball in the Greater Cincinnati metropolitan and surrounding areas, nationally and internationally. This includes induction ceremonies and a high school recognition banquet. Proceeds from the event have benefited youth basketball and educational programs in the Tri-State. Our annual banquet, honors high school boys and girls and their coaches. Hall of Fame members are inducted at this event as well. Mr. Ted Price was on the Board of Directors since the beginning. A 1948 Graduate of Cincinnati Walnut Hills High School. Ted played for Adolf Rupp at University of Kentucky. He transferred to Texas where he played Basketball and Baseball. Ted came home and enrolled in Law School at The University of Cincinnati where graduated. Ted played a key roll on development of the Greater Cincinnati Basketball Hall of Fame.
